Vigil & Procession
Vigil & Procession
Community partners are organizing a Vigil and Procession on Monday, March 16, from 6–8 p.m. at the Capitol Mall Plaza. The gathering is being held to remember those who have died or been disappeared due to ICE violence and to stand in solidarity with communities affected by immigration enforcement. The evening will include a candlelight vigil and procession as participants gather to mourn, reflect, and show support for neighbors who have been impacted. Organizers invite attendees to wear mourning clothing and bring candles or ofrenda offerings as part of the remembrance. Faith leaders from across Salem have also been invited to participate by offering words, leading songs, or joining the procession in clergy attire.
Members of Salem First Presbyterian Church who feel called to attend are welcome to join in this time of reflection and solidarity with our wider community.
